Sophie Chassée

Cologne-based musician Sophie Chassée is now a much sought-after bassist and guitarist on the German music scene. After studying music (pop bass) at the Institute of Music at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, she has spent the past few years performing on stage as a bassist with major German bands such as AnnenMayKantereit and Blumengarten, amongst others. She played with Helmut Zerlett and his band at the Grimme Prize awards ceremony; she appeared with the heavytones on Stefan Raab’s ‘Chefsache ESC 2025’; and in 2022 she played bass in Alli Neumann’s band as the support act for the internationally renowned band Coldplay. Her bass playing combines a feel for the song with a keen ear for groove and sound. This is no coincidence, as Sophie also approaches every line as a songwriter.

Precision brooks no excuses. Glockenklang reveals every detail to me – direct, honest and uncompromising. Exactly the sound that slam and deathcore demand.

Dustin Wende

For years, the band Bartosz was his musical home, complete with unforgettable anecdotes such as an unexpected ‘Ballermann’ hit and third place at the 2014 ESC Club Concert, before his career as a chemist took him to university.

Today, playing the double bass and electric bass, his heart beats above all for his own compositions as well as bespoke light music for all manner of lovely occasions.

His place on the Glockenklang Artist Page is based less on international chart successes than on his good friendship with the owner of Glockenklang. 😉

Thanks to the amplifier’s uncompromising clarity, the low notes fortunately always sound more professional than one’s own musical exploits might suggest.

Christian Kussmann

Christian Kussmann is a freelance musician (electric bass and double bass), arranger and composer. After studying music in Mannheim and Vienna, he continued to refine his distinctive style, which is characterised by a deep understanding of complex harmony and intricate rhythms, as well as his highly sensitive and energetic playing style.
Christian performs in his own ensembles and as a sideman, with a musical focus on jazz, improvised music and world music.
“I’ve been a huge fan of Glockenklang’s amps and cabinets for many years. The Blue Bird then completely blew me away: for me, it’s the ultimate amp, reproducing the full range of my 6-string with maximum dynamics, warmth and punch. Depending on the situation, I use it in combination with the small Acoustic 8-2, 10-2, Duo, Double or Take Five – it thrills me every day!”

Reza Askari

Reza Askari (born 1986 in Fulda, Germany) is a double bassist, composer, and professor. The son of an Iranian immigrant and a German mother, he grew up surrounded by different cultural influences. He began playing the piano at the age of five and discovered the double bass at eleven.
Askari’s music moves between avant-garde, free jazz, and modern creative music, developing a distinctive language in which composed structures and free improvisation merge. His work also draws on the intensity and raw energy of more extreme forms of rock music – from grunge and doom to mathcore and metal – translating their heaviness, rhythmic complexity, and expressive force into an acoustic improvisational context.
